Demi-Glace is a rich brown sauce in French cuisine used by itself or as a base for other sauces. The term comes from the French word glace. Just a tablespoon or two of Demi-Glace will add richness and depth to a variety of dishes, from soups and stews to sauces and gravies. The authentic sauce in 10 minutes. It’s Versatile – so experiment. Can be used in making sauces like Madiera, Pepper, Mushroom and Burgundy sauce. Can also be used in continental food like steaks, sizzlers, etc. Preparation – In a saucepan, whisk contents into 300ml cold water until blended. Whisking constantly, bring to boil over medium heat. Reduce heat & simmer for 3 minutes, whisking occasionally.
