Description
Flax Seeds Are High in Omega-3 Fats They are a rich source of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a mostly plant-based omega-3 fatty acid ( 2 ). ALA is one of the two essential fatty acids that you have to obtain from the food you eat, as your body doesn’t produce them. Due to their high content of oil, flax seeds belong to the group of the so-called oilseeds. Some budgies and other pet birds like to eat flax seeds. If one serves these seeds in small quantities in addition to the daily seed mixture, the birds can benefit from the nutrients of these healthy small seeds.
