The Nokia 2720 offers text and multimedia messaging, instant messaging, and WAP browsing. The phone also sports an organizer with the usual alarm clock, calendar, to-do list, and a memo pad, stopwatch and timer. The phone comes preloaded with six Java games, including Tetris, Pacman and The Oregon Trail. It is a clamshell GSM phone with an interesting form factor that is angled at the top and elegantly rounds off at the corners. The folding mechanism is smooth and even users with larger thumbs shouldn’t have complaints. The Nokia 2720 offers Bluetooth support and is a hands-free speaker-phone. Nokia 2720 also supports IMAP, POP, and STMP e-mail messages, including Gmail and support for attachments. The handset also comes with a voice recorder and supports the option to sync and backup up your phonebook and SMS data with a computer. The 2720 features a 1.36 inch black and white external display which shows the caller ID and the time and lets you know if the keypad is locked or not. It sports a 2.5 mm headphone jack. The Nokia 2720 opens up to reveal a 1.8 inch screen with 128 x 160-pixel resolution capable of rendering 65,000 colors. You can adjust font size, but not the brightness or back-lighting time. Just below the screen is a handy four-way navigation toggle. The 2720 comes with bright backlit keys on the dial. The Nokia 2720 features two keypad shortcuts that activates the music player and turns on the silent mode. The 2720 sports a 1.3 megapixel camera, without a flash. However, the phone still does a good job capturing the moment as a sequence of images, or as a video. The phone also comes with a self-timer and 4x digital zoom. It allows you to save the pictures in JPEG format, which you can use as caller ID photos, wallpaper or icons. Nokia 2720 supports 500 contacts into the address book; you can add up to five numbers and an e-mail address for each entry. The 2720 allows a single button shift from photo to video mode, the camera records 3GP clips up to 2 minutes long and can play back 3GP and MP4 files. The phone comes with a built-in music player for MP3 and AAC songs; it also doubles up as an FM radio receiver.
