Our gourmet quality Lerida figs are sourced from the vast tracts of farmland in Turkey. The figs are succulently sweet with a consistency that combines the chewiness of their flesh, the softness of their skin, and the crunchiness of their seeds. Unlike most dried figs where almost all of the moisture is extracted and the fruit is flattened out completely, our Figs are dried from the outside, making the flesh soft and chewy, while allowing the inside to still be moist so one can also enjoy their sweet juice and crunchy seeds. Figs are high in fiber and a good source of several essential minerals, including magnesium, manganese, calcium (which promotes bone density), copper, and potassium (which helps lower blood pressure), as well as vitamins, principally K and B6. They can be eaten by themselves, or used sliced and stuffed with cream cheese and almonds, or sliced and sprinkled as Pizza toppings, among many other interesting ways.
