Amla (Amalaki) is the richest natural source of Vitamin C, alkaloids, Enzymes, Tannin. Amla is known for its adaptogenic properties immune support herbal supplement of the body. Amla also has natural bioflavonoids. It is the most used herb among all herbs in Ayurvedic medicine system. Like gold is the most valuable in all minerals, Amla is in Ayurvedic herbs. In this way, Amla fruit stands next to Amrit because it has all the five Rasas. Amla fruit is also considered Rasayan for Pitta in Ayurveda. The Ancient book, Charaka Samhita mentions that in all the Rasayans (Rasayan means the Ayurvedic formulation made for the positive effect on physiology), Amla Rasayana is the most nourishing and potent one. Charaka Smhita, also mentions that, Amla is the best rejuvenative herb among all. Charaka also said specially, that Amla is a great Rasayana to help protecting people from diseases and prevents premature ageing.
