The BCAAs are namely leucine, isoleucine and valine. BCAAs are incredibly essential and fall into the category of essential amino acids. Essential amino acids are amino acids that the body cannot synthesize by itself and therefore must get adequate amounts through dietary sources. BCAAs help kick start protein synthesis, which plays an important role in muscle growth. BCAAs have primarily been shown to benefit post training recovery, either from muscle damage or fatigue.
