Golden Berries or known as Physalis Peruvian are native to the Andes of South America. In Spite of its name, it is not actually a true berry. It belongs to the family of tomatoes and closely related to tomatillo- a kind of ground tomato. In Peru, Golden berries are called “aguaymanto” as they look like small tomatoes. Today these berries have made their way in to the newest super food in many countries. How its taste? Golden Berries have sweet and tart flavor and are extremely nutrient dense.
